Enshrouded Kindlewastes Lore

Written by Sarah-Maree

The following is what I have for Kindlewastes Lore in Enshrouded. NOTE: MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS - I won’t share Lore content, but the titles may give things away, and the photos may reveal things. For an overview of what the heck I’m talking about, click here! Since I found most of these, they won’t glow red in the pictures, but they should glow red, like a fire, for you if you haven’t discovered them yet. If not, I’m sure the game developers would appreciate any feedback or hearing of any glitches, bugs, or malfunctions as this is an Early Access game - in that it isn’t fully finished and they are still working out some things. If you have any questions or tips for me, let me know in the comments! I’ll try to update often and with images to help guide you on your journey. All images used in this blog post are screenshots from the game Enshrouded.

TIP: Having trouble with an Ancient Spire? Check out my Enshrouded Ancient Spires Overview for how you can reach the top of the towers and unlock Fast Travel.

Kindlewastes

Ancient Obelisk Research Begins

1/1 A New Venture!

Inside one of the two tents at the Kindlewastes’ Obelisk Observation Camp is a scroll to read. It’s a quick glide down from the Ancient Spire - Kindlewastes Fast Travel.

The Scourge

1/1 Cruel Waters

Thanks to a kind assist, this Lore has been found! As you can see by the map, the Lore is very close to the Ancient Spire - Kindlewastes Fast Travel. You can glide directly to it, or if you’re interested in following the road, head to the Shroud Root instead. From there, head southeast for the dirt road. You’ll pass through the Shrouded Camp on your way. After following the road for a bit, you’ll reach an intersection. Take the southern trail and you’ll spot the red Shroud river and some boats. On one boat is a skeleton in this piece of Lore.

Underground Infestation

1/2 Uncle Dreadbane

This Lore can be found at the top of a tower in East Lapis. It can be a pain to get up to, but hopping up on an opposing building that has a ladder and using double jump and then gliding over helped me. The building has a way up that is a bit easier, particularly if you have already slain the enemies and can take your time in the area. Reading this Lore will start the Items, XP, and Loot Rewards Quest: Underground Infestation. Obtaining the second piece of this Lore will also finish the quest.

TIP: There are two other pieces of Lore here, including the next one in this series - 2/2 Dreadbane Hammer Discovered. Nobles and History Lore: Caravan To Longkeep 1/2 Survival Depends On Me.

TIP: East Lapis also has the Hunter Quest: Loom For The Hunter in this location.

2/2 Dreadbane Hammer Discovered

After completing the Lore above, hop down into the square below, jump in the well, fight some stuff, and loot the glowing body! Getting the weapon Dreadbane finishes this Lore.

TIP: Two other East Lapis Lore: The first is the previous Lore to this one - 1/2 Uncle Dreadbane. The second is the Nobles and History Lore: Caravan To Longkeep 1/2 Survival Depends On Me.

The Oasis

1/3 A Hopeful Beginning

A lone tent with a dilapidated wagon sits out in the desert near a large bridge. The area is unmarked on the map, of course, but the location is north, northwest of the Ancient Spire - Kindlewastes Fast Travel and slightly northeast of Brittlebush. The Lore is inside the tent.

TIP: Here is some more Brittlebush Lore! (And some that is nearby to it.) General Lore: Honey Misery 1/1 No Honey!, On Fertile Ground 3/3 Ring Obtained (not in city, but nearby), Emily Fray’s Tavern 1/3 Emily Fray’s Diary, Entry 1 and 2/3 Emily Fray’s Diary, Entry 2 (not int city, and a bit far); The Shroud, Elixir, and Elixir Well Lore: Elin’s Warning 1/1 The Walls Are Alive!, Kindlewastes Well Prospects 2/3 You Fool (not int city, and a bit far).

2/3 Supplies Lost

In an unmarked area of the Kindlewastes region is a lone tent with a scroll inside. It’s a fair glide from the Ancient Spire - Kindlewastes Fast Travel.

3/3 Mirage

This last piece of Lore is a short distance from the Ancient Spire - Kindlewastes Fast Travel. On the table is the final piece of Lore about the Oasis (currently lit by my trusty torch).

Myth Of Giants

1/2 Bones In The Sand

Head east of the Ancient Spire - Nomad Highlands Fast Travel toward the Eldermere Dam Excavation Camp. There you’ll find a pile of books on a table and a scroll to read. The Lore can be found near the back left tent.

TIP: Also here is the Kindlewastes Lore: Mystery Of Eldermere Dam 1/1 On The Disappearance Of Water.

2/2 Clues From A Shaman

Located at Boneshard Excavation Camp this scroll can be found nearly straight ahead and on a table next to the tent. The camp is very close to the Ancient Spire - Kindlewastes Fast Travel.

Mystery Of Eldermere Dam

1/1 On The Disappearance Of Water

Making it to the Eldermere Dam Excavation Camp can be difficult, but it’s well worth the journey! Head east from the Ancient Spire - Nomad Highlands Fast Travel. Check out the lower camp first, but then head to the upper left corner for this piece of Lore (with my torch highlighting the table the book is on).

TIP: Also here is the Kindlewastes Lore: Myth Of Giants 1/2 Bones In The Sand.

Derelict Kindlewastes

1/1 Deserted

The Sun Temple where this book resides is way out there in the southwestern part of the Kindlewastes. Getting here is daunting, and obtaining the loot can be even worse. But you DO have options.

Option 1: I wish you luck in your flying, because the easiest way to obtain this lore is to up your mana regeneration (with rings and skills), use Updraft (an Assassin Skill) frequently, and land on the roof. From there, jump down one level, walk through a window, and fall down to the book and body below. Don’t have that luxury? There are two other options.

TIP: Near this Lore is also the Building Block Quest: Derelict Kindlewastes - Desert Temple Block.

Option 2: The southern mini dungeon has an elaborate swinging and jumping puzzle to reach it. I used that to reach the railing on the right of the third screenshot. From there, I did a Double Jump (a Survivor Skill) to glide over to a lower portion of the Sun Temple roof. A few much easier hops later, and I had the Lore and loot!

Option 3: Complete the three mini dungeons to unlock the temple doors. WARNING: I did this once, and the temple doors did NOT open for me, despite all three blocks being lit up above the door. Boooooo. Also, I’m pretty sure this is the method they intend you to do, but it glitched on me, so I hiss at it. And boo.

Once you’re in the Sun Temple, the area is clear to run around in. It’s more or less one big room with two sets of stairs on either side. There’s also a golden chest. You can still loot the chest even if the door is locked, like in options 1 or 2.
