Hello fellow readers, and possibly even fellow writers! It’s been a long time coming, but I have finally condensed my FREE chapters for my published books into one convenient location! The first one is always free, or in this case, the first five! Hurray for you, and yay me!
When words become forbidden due to their negativity, it's up to campers Daniel and Wendy to bring back the fun by using the camp's rules against the counselors.
My eyes glazed over as I numbly munched on a plain, flavorless bagel. It was too early in the morning for me to deal with any of the nonsense that was happening.
“Alright, Campers! If this is your first time to Positivity Camp, please raise your hand! That’s right, raise ‘em up!”
“I’ve received word about the two of you,” someone called out, their voice coming from behind us rather than from inside the building.
My brain felt like mush after being forced to watch what had to be the stupidest video ever. I couldn’t even recall what Wendy and I had done to deserve watching the awful thing.
Everyone stayed silent as we escaped from Head Counselor Petrel. The silence only lasted as long as it took to get out of sight, and that ended the second we reached the top of the stairs.
"To thine enemies, destruction and ruin."
With an opening line like that, it’s no wonder Matt keeps stealing his cousin’s journals and reading them! Lured in by swords, magic, and curses, Matt unexpectedly finds an escape from his chaotic home life. But can a story, even one that parallels his actions in the real world, be enough to turn his life around?
“To all thine enemies, destruction and ruin,” Matt said, reading the first line of the stolen journal. He quickly closed the book and looked around cautiously.
“To all thine enemies, destruction and ruin,” the knight repeated the phrase, a litany against the chill of the wind and rain. Zor, his faithful steed, shifted uneasily beneath him, reminding Ryac of his own discomfort.
“Dinner time!”
“Sir Ryac, please-”
Ryac knew his time was short. He also knew his path took him directly toward the magical stone lion that roared to life before him.
I probably shouldn't say that exactly. I mean, more books are on the way, but I don't know how long soon will be, if you know what I mean.
