The picture of the back cover gives a glimpse into the book, of course, but the story is a bit more complicated than what that brief snippet gives. Sir Ryac and the Dark Mage is a story about an unruly child perpetuating a cycle of abuse. That is, until a story starts to influence his life. The Journey From Blog To Book

It's been quite the journey with this book. I mean, I started writing it back in May of 2017 (now December of 2022). Well, maybe I had started it a bit sooner than that. That's the month it officially started on my blog.

It wasn't easy getting it all done and finalized this year. The cover that I thought I had finished was actually only the front cover. In other words, I had to go back and request (and pay for) the spine and back cover. Besides that, formatting took much much longer than I had anticipated. Of course, having two new video games and an update to an old favorite of mine didn't help my speed. Nor did that road trip, lol.

In the end, I got it done! Now the paperback and e-book are available and the audio book is in the works! With this winter storm, it certainly feels like excellent timing! Who's ready to curl up with a good book and a hot drink?

Coming up next

I'm hopeful that I can start getting a book published every year. It won't be easy, but as I've been editing and finalizing Ryac, I've also been working on my next novel. I haven't finished the rough draft of the Charm of Night yet, but this up-and-coming author isn't backing down from the challenge!
